Grill’d new burger range

Apr 27

20140419_192936I have been a big fan of the burgers at grill’d for a while, personally I think that their steak sandwich (while being slightly pricey) is one of the better offerings that you can get in Perth and miles better than any of the fast food chains. Recently grill’d have got on board and joined the mini burger (otherwise known as sliders) craze with four of their own variations. I received an invitation to try out the new burgers and sides and see how they stack up to the delicious steak sandwich. Read more →

Pleased to meet you, Northbridge

Apr 14

Every month A and I take turns at surprising each other and we go to try a new restaurant (past date nights that I have blogged about include Paddy Malones and Indian Ocean Brewing Company). This time it was A’s turn to surprise me, she knows that there are two restaurants that I have been dying to try with the first one being The Old Crow and the second one being Pleased to meet you. Unfortunately The Old Crow’s popularity meant that we weren’t able to secure a booking so we went with option 2 but option two was definitely not a backup option in any way. Read more →

Sundays Everyday, Myaree

Dec 10

IMAG0816On Friday I had a bit of a day out running errands with my mum. It was a really nice day out with just the two of us. Around lunchtime we found ourselves near Myaree and trying to find somewhere to go for lunch. I don’t go to Myaree very often so I wasn’t sure what was good around there. Both my mum and I were feeling like Japanese so I had a little look on urbanspoon and there is a place with the strange name of Sundays Everyday that had a pretty high rating, we decided to see if this high rating was justified. Grill’d Airstream trailer, Perth

Nov 23

SONY DSCFrom time to time I receive emails from PR companies inviting me to try different things and provide my opinion. The other day I received one which immediately seemed up my alley, the gist of the invite was “come and try some burgers from the grill’d airstream trailer and enjoy a few feral beers in the process”. Beers and burgers? I’m in! Read more →

La Favela, Bali

Nov 17

SONY DSCFor our last meal in Bali we went to a place that L was dying to go to. It’s a small place called La favela. This is a place that has only been open for about two weeks and was recommended to her by someone that she works with. Looking for La favela is quite the challenge, snuggled between a surf shop and a restaurant the only indication that we could see is a small sign that was illuminated by light globes. Read more →

Segara Asian Grill, Bali

Nov 07

SONY DSCA decided that I needed to see experience Kuta for the first time this holidays. I caught the taxi and when I arrived in Kuta it was quite the assault on the senses, there are people constantly trying to get your business. We did a little bit of shopping and then at about 1pm we decided to go and get some lunch, A mentioned that there are a few nice places at the front of the discovery mall that we can go to. We both really liked the look of Segara asian grill. Read more →

Nasi Ayam Kedetawan, Bali

Oct 29

SONY DSCOne of my favourite things to do when I am on holidays is to skip the hotel breakfast, find a small roadside cafe and enjoy people watching while sipping a delicious beverage. With this in mind while I was in Bali I set out on foot looking for one of these small roadside cafes. Read more →

Jamie’s Italian, Perth

Oct 14

SONY DSCWe had been wanting to go to Jamie’s in quite a while. Jamie’s Italian is the latest in a series of restaurants around the world that Jamie Oliver opened. The restaurants feature food that is very much in the ethos of Jamie Oliver which is generous friendly Italian food. The reason that I haven’t been to Jamie’s yet is that it is always busy, there is constantly a line that goes out the door. A was confident that this time we would have the opportunity to try it because she had a game plan. Read more →

Hong Kong Cuisine, Myaree

Oct 05

SONY DSCIt was a beautiful day and I didn’t have a huge amount planned so I decided to go out in search of some delicious food. As I was browsing around various social media sites I saw mention of a place called Spice Express which is in Myaree. On my way there I saw one twitter more people were praising the food of Spice Express. When I arrived in Myaree I noticed that it was closed. Well this put a dampener on things. Pondering what I should do I decided to call up one of my friends that lives nearby. I mentioned that I was near Spice Express and I was looking for some delicious food, he pointed me in the direction of Hong Kong Cuisine. Read more →

Indian Ocean Brewery, Mindarie

Aug 29

SONY DSCI was at work sorting out numerous accounts (I work in finance for those that don’t know) When I received a message from A asking if I would like to go out to dinner. I said sure! She mentioned that there was one catch, the place that we are going to is a complete surprise! This was pretty exciting, we headed off that night and I still had no idea where we were going to.
