The bonsai, Northbridge

On a Thursday A and I were talking about different places that we have been to and places that we would like to go to. A mentioned to me that there is one place that she would like to go to that she has always had nice meals at. That place is called The Bonsai and is a place that serves share plates of Japanese food. I thought that this sounded like a great idea. When we were on the way to Bonsai I quickly looked up what the rating was on urbanspoon, this particular restaurant has an 87% ranking so I was thinking it has to be pretty good. Read more →

Tarts Cafe, Northbridge

Apr 11

I had been meaning to catch up with A on Sunday. I was being slightly indecisive with what to do so i left it up to her to choose, her response was “why don’t we go to my favourite breakfast place, it’s this little place tucked in the outskirts of northbridge called tarts cafe”. I agreed on going there, normally I do as much research as possible before going to a restaurant but this time i decided to go to tarts without knowing anything about the menu. Read more →

Hawkers Cuisine, Northbridge

Mar 07

This was a meal that has been in the works for a little while. On twitter a few of us have been discussing where to go and your favourite spots. Hawker’s cuisine seemed to be a particularly popular choice, even for just one dish which we will get to later. I hadn’t been to hawker’s cuisine before, although i do love Malaysian hawker fare so i would be interested to see if this is another place to add to my shortlist. Read more →

Nandos, Northbridge

Feb 01

When i first started my blog i had this idea of reviewing every single place that i go to, i didn’t want to only review proper restaurants. On a wonderful Sunday i met up with one of my friends Adam in northbridge, I let him choose what to have for lunch and he mentioned that he didn’t feel like Asian food and suggested nandos was only around the corner so why don’t we go there. What the Pho, Northbridge

Dec 06

This was the first day of my holidays and I knew for today I had one thing planned. To go to the gym.
I went to the gym in the morning and then once I finished working out I started to feel pretty hungry. I remembered that I purchased a spreets voucher a while back for what the pho and it expired in a few days so I decided to go there. Read more →

Tea Cafe, Northbridge

Nov 30

I was feeling a little bit of bloggers remorse because I haven’t put a new review up in a couple of weeks and I woke up motivated this morning ready to review! When I got to work I emailed my work buddy liana and arranged to catch up for lunch and we had a discussion on where to go. We were both feeling like asian food and I remember receiving a suggestion from one of my colleagues regarding this place that apparently does really good lunch specials. Read more →

Tra Vinh, Northbridge

Nov 16

This is it, this is my favourite Vietnamese restaurant in Perth. In the next few paragraphs I will go into specifics as to why it is my favourite, basically I just find the atmosphere electric and the food is delicious.

On a saturday morning I received a message out of the blue from one of my buddies paul. The message simply said “HVS today?” Now ‘HVS’ is actually our code for ‘hardcore Vietnamese soup’. My answer was a simple ‘hell yeah!’ and a few hours later we were talking about food on a destination to eat food (we probably have a problem with food but meh!). Read more →

One thing that you might know from reading my blog is that I love Vietnamese food, I love the freshness and vibrancy of it all. So when one of my work mates invites me to dinner with her and her friends and the place in question is a Vietnamese restaurant, I jump at the chance! Read more →

Joy Garden, Northbridge

Aug 17

I headed out nice and early on a Saturday morning to get a coffee. while I was sitting enjoying my coffee I received a SMS from one of my friends bec who lives in karratha. Bec said in the SMS that she was actually in Perth and would like to catch up with me for lunch, preferably in northbridge as her hubby had a craving for dim sum. Now one thing that people should know about me is that I love asian food so any time that anyone wants to join me for some asian food then I am more than happy to join them. They left the selection to me and I chose a place called Joy Garden because the food is quite tasty but mainly because bec had her son with her and Joy Garden has slightly more room than the other dim sum places.
