The first time i went to KL back in 2009 i found this amazing place for wantan noodles. Unfortunately i found it on the last morning before I was heading back to Australia. I remember thinking to myself if I ever was to go to KL again that i would go back to the same wantan mee place. My recent trip has provided me with the ability to fulfill this thought. On my second last day in singapore I spent the day wandering along orchard road and doing some shopping. My day started with breakfast at KFC as i saw the other day that they had congee on the menu and i decided to give it a try. To be honest it was pretty disappointing, when you get a really good bowl of congee it should feel really nourishing and should warm you up. This particular congee was thick and incredibly bland. This is it, this is my favourite Vietnamese restaurant in Perth. In the next few paragraphs I will go into specifics as to why it is my favourite, basically I just find the atmosphere electric and the food is delicious.
On a saturday morning I received a message out of the blue from one of my buddies paul. The message simply said “HVS today?” Now ‘HVS’ is actually our code for ‘hardcore Vietnamese soup’. One of the advantages of working in the city is that when it comes to lunch I have so much choice. This is sometimes a curse as I can wander around for nearly my whole lunch break looking for somewhere to go to.
