The first time i went to KL back in 2009 i found this amazing place for wantan noodles. Unfortunately i found it on the last morning before I was heading back to Australia. I remember thinking to myself if I ever was to go to KL again that i would go back to the same wantan mee place. My recent trip has provided me with the ability to fulfill this thought. I remembered the exact location of the particular restaurant so I set out at about 8am in search of the restaurant and it’s still there! Read more →

Ippudo SG, Singapore
On my second last day in singapore I spent the day wandering along orchard road and doing some shopping. My day started with breakfast at KFC as i saw the other day that they had congee on the menu and i decided to give it a try. To be honest it was pretty disappointing, when you get a really good bowl of congee it should feel really nourishing and should warm you up. This particular congee was thick and incredibly bland. Dong Ji Char kway teow, Singapore
When i was researching the Singapore leg of my trip I knew that I wanted to have quite a few meals at hawker centres in the city however with so much choice I wasn’t sure where was the best. After looking around some various blogs I found that the old airport road hawker centre is consistently in the top hawker centres of Singapore. With this in mind i boarded Singapore’s's excellent public transport system on my way there one morning. Read more →
Mama Tran, Perth
This is a place that i have been pretty excited about for a while. It all started when i was on my holiday in Singapore, I was checking out my twitter to see what was going on in Perth while i was overseas and i saw a lot of people talking about a particular place in Perth called mama trans. So i asked google for advice and it mentioned that it was a new noodle place that has opened up less than a 5 minute walk from my work! This could be interesting. Read more →

What the Pho, Northbridge
This was the first day of my holidays and I knew for today I had one thing planned. To go to the gym.
I went to the gym in the morning and then once I finished working out I started to feel pretty hungry. I remembered that I purchased a spreets voucher a while back for what the pho and it expired in a few days so I decided to go there. Read more →
Tra Vinh, Northbridge
This is it, this is my favourite Vietnamese restaurant in Perth. In the next few paragraphs I will go into specifics as to why it is my favourite, basically I just find the atmosphere electric and the food is delicious.
On a saturday morning I received a message out of the blue from one of my buddies paul. The message simply said “HVS today?” Now ‘HVS’ is actually our code for ‘hardcore Vietnamese soup’. My answer was a simple ‘hell yeah!’ and a few hours later we were talking about food on a destination to eat food (we probably have a problem with food but meh!). Read more →

Arigataya, Northbridge
One of the advantages of working in the city is that when it comes to lunch I have so much choice. This is sometimes a curse as I can wander around for nearly my whole lunch break looking for somewhere to go to.
So the other day I was at work and it was about 9:30 when my mind started thinking about food and what to have for dinner, almost at the same time I got an email from my food obsessed colleague Liana. After some small chit chat she asked if we would like to go and get some lunch, I was indecisive on what I wanted but liana knew exactly what she wanted.
