Restoran Dragon View, Kuala Lumpur Malaysia

Apr 25

SONY DSCThe first time i went to KL back in 2009 i found this amazing place for wantan noodles. Unfortunately i found it on the last morning before I was heading back to Australia. I remember thinking to myself if I ever was to go to KL again that i would go back to the same wantan mee place. My recent trip has provided me with the ability to fulfill this thought. I remembered the exact location of the particular restaurant so I set out at about 8am in search of the restaurant and it’s still there! Read more →

Calanthe Art Café, Melaka

Mar 27

SONY DSCIn tourist driven jonker street on weeknights there aren’t a huge amount of options for dinner available. I suppose that most malaysian people have dinner in central melaka and it’s just the tourists that stick to jonker street. So after dinner last night I was going for an evening stroll around and I walked past a nondescript little shack that had a little sign proclaiming that they have amazing laksa and i made a mental note to return the next night for dinner. Feb 16

SONY DSCIt was mine and A’s 11 month anniversary. This was something that I was over the moon about as A makes me extremely happy. Something that we have started doing recently is that every month we will take each other out for dinner to somewhere that is a surprise. It was my turn and I spent a long time looking on urbanspoon for the perfect place to take A. That is when Amarin Thai popped into my mind. Read more →

KL Food, Spencer Village

SONY DSCI had been back from my holiday to Singapore/Malaysia for about 7 days and I started to miss Singapore. I was mainly missing the availability of fresh and delicious food around every corner. It was at that moment I decided that I needed some good hawker food in my life and I knew just the place to go and get it. Read more →

Munchies sushi, Mt lawley

Jan 30

SONY DSCA found a deal online the other day that she surprised me with. The deal was for $50 dollars worth of sushi from a place called munchies sushi. I hadn’t heard of munchies sushi before so i went on google to do a little bit of research. It turns out that munchies sushi hadn’t been opened very long. I decided to go into this meal knowing very little about the restaurant to surprise myself. Read more →

California Pizza Kitchen

Jan 22

SONY DSCWhen i was planning my most recent trip to Malaysia there was one place that A mentioned that i have to go to. This place was ‘California Pizza Kitchen’, when she had been on a holiday to south east asia a few years ago she went to this particular chain of restaurants 3 times in 2 weeks. A was raving about how great their chicken salad was. After I received this glowing recommendation I went onto the California Pizza Kitchen website to see a little bit about their history. It turns out that the first location opened in California (unsurprisingly) in 1985 and since then has expanded to over 250 locations around the world. Read more →

Eleven restaurant, Melaka

Jan 13

SONY DSCI was looking for somewhere to go for dinner near where i was staying in Melaka, to be honest as much as i was looking for somewhere to go for dinner I was also enjoying walking around the streets of Melaka and taking photos in the beautiful afternoon light like the one above. I remember the thought of “I can’t believe i am in Malaysia” kept running through my head as i walked around. Read more →

Ippudo SG, Singapore

Dec 15

On my second last day in singapore I spent the day wandering along orchard road and doing some shopping. My day started with breakfast at KFC as i saw the other day that they had congee on the menu and i decided to give it a try. To be honest it was pretty disappointing, when you get a really good bowl of congee it should feel really nourishing and should warm you up. This particular congee was thick and incredibly bland. The Precinct, Victoria Park

Dec 10

The other day i was casually browsing through my instagram when i saw someone put up a picture of a particular dish that was at the precinct, as soon as i saw that i knew that we had to go there. A and I entered the precinct on a beautiful Sunday lunch and we were greeted with a very buzzing small bar. Read more →

Cheeky Monkey, Margaret River

Nov 22

A and I had a weekend away together in Busselton. When we were planning the trip I didn’t realise that Margaret River was so close to Busselton. We planned out a day in Margaret River eating good food and drinking good wine. The last time that i went to Margaret River was when i first finished school so it was quite a surprise to me that there are copious amounts of great food and wine there. It completely surprised me. When it was getting close to lunch time we remembered hearing a tip on a place called cheeky monkey to go that does a pretty respectable lunch. We would see if this was a good tip or not.
